About KCI Auto Auction

Serving major markets throughout the Midwest, KCI Auto Auction offers a full range of remarketing services including reconditioning, inspections, transportation, salvage, equipment sales, and Internet auctions.  KCI remarkets vehicles for wholesale consignors including dealers, manufacturers, rental car companies, banks, finance, and leasing institutions.  Its primary customer base draws from Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

KCI Auto Auction was established in 1978 and was previously known as P & S Auto Auction and Kansas Auto Auction.  The original auction was located in Elwood, KS and operated in that location for twenty-nine years.

Auction Owner, Gregg Boswell, has more than twenty-nine years of auto auction experience.  He came through the ranks working in various auction departments, learning all aspects of the industry.  Under Gregg’s direction the auction saw tremendous growth.  It grew from selling seventy-five cars per week to selling two hundred seventy-five cars per week.  Meanwhile, the facility grew from five to twenty-three acres.  Eventually, the auction outgrew its location and knew it was time to move forward.

In response to the rising demand for its services, the auction made a land purchase in Kansas City in 2006 and began the process of constructing a state of the art facility.  Construction began in October of 2007, taking nine months to complete.  KCI Auto Auction welcomed customers to a long-awaited opening of their new facility in July of 2008.

KCI continues to expand to serve growing sales and services.  We continue to improve facilities and increase services, including the introduction of Auction Pipeline Internet Sales.  Currently, auction officials are planning for additional parking spaces and a test track with both being completed by Fall of 2008.  Future plans include an on-site reconditioning facility, mechanical repair and certification facility, and an auto body and paint center.
